ISO 9001:2026 – Key Changes and Updates from 2015 standard

The updated ISO 9001:2026 standard introduces key changes that reflect evolving quality priorities, increased customer and regulatory expectations, and a stronger emphasis on risk-based thinking, process performance, and continual improvement.

This course is designed to provide a clear and practical understanding of the differences between ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 9001:2026. Participants will gain insight into new requirements, revised clauses, and how these changes impact Quality Management Systems (QMS).

The Main Changes Include:

– New requirements relating to quality culture and ethical behaviour, particularly in the areas of leadership and awareness

– Clearer separation of risks and opportunities, with Clause 6.1 restructured

– The climate change amendment incorporated into Clauses 4.1 and 4.2

– Broader treatment of organisational knowledge, linked to the intended results of the QMS

– Expanded Annex A guidance encompassing Clauses 4 to 10 of the standard

– Removal of Annex B, with relevant references moved into Annex A and ISO/TC 176 sources

This programme ensures that certified auditors meet the highest standards of competence, helping to uphold safety, compliance, and public trust. The course incorporates the most up to date approaches to auditing, real-world case studies, exercises, and accelerated learning methods. Learners will leave ready to conduct effective first, second and third-party audits of entire OH&S management systems, helping organisations to meet legal, regulatory and strategic health and safety objectives.

Please note: This course does not cover ISO 45001 in detail. Learners are expected to have a foundational understanding of occupational health and safety concepts and ISO 45001 prior to attending. It is recommended that those without this knowledge complete an ISO 45001 Foundation (OH&SMS) course beforehand
