Food Safety

ISO 22000

Food Safety Management System that can be applied to any organisation or company in the food chain. Becoming certified to ISO 22000 allows an organisation/company to show their customers that they have a food safety management system in place. This provides customer confidence in the product.

The standard integrates the principles of the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system and by means of auditable requirements, it combines the HACCP plan with prerequisite programs (PRPs).

FSSC 22000

Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) 22000 is an internationally accepted certification scheme based on a combination of ISO 22000 sector specific PRP and FSSC additional requirements. The certification scheme is owned by the Foundation for Food Safety Certification.

In contrast to the ISO standard, it is recognised by the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative).

FSSC 22000 is based on ISO standards and internationally recognised scheme of audit and certification of food safety management systems in the food supply chain. It is a certification scheme that absorbs ISO 22000 and contains a more extensive list of standards to be met by the enterprise.

BRC Global Standard for Food Safety

BRC certification is an internationally recognised mark of food safety and quality. Certification is achieved by undertaking a third-party audit against Standard requirements by an accredited certification body.

The BRC standard has a focus on quality, food safety and legality and the FSSC 22000 targets its focus on food safety and legal compliance.
