AEO status is a certified standard issued by customs administrators in the EU.
It certifies that a business has met certain standards in relation to their security, management systems, compliance with customs rules and ongoing solvency.

- Complete a gap analysis of your systems and processes
- Help to close any gaps found during the analysis
- Prepare any necessary documentation including checklists, processes, procedures, records, and risk assessments to meet AEO criteria
- Create an internal audit programme to review the processes before inspection
- Assist you in completing the SAQ and application form

If your company operates a plant where there is potential for an explosion, your company has an obligation to hold certification of compliance with the ATEX directives for your equipment.
The safety requirements needed depend on your individual processes, procedures, materials and products.
Part 8 and Schedule 10 to the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 relate to explosive atmospheres at places of work and set out various requirements including:
- Assessment of explosion risk
- Classification of places where explosive atmospheres could occur
- Prevention against explosions
- Safety of plant, equipment and protective systems
- Training and instructions
- Permits to work
- Protection of employees from explosion
- Co-ordination at workplaces
Antaris can carry out a risk assessment, on your behalf, of any work activities involving flammable substances and record the findings of the risk assessment in a document called the ‘explosion protection document’.
This risk assessment will enable us to decide whether existing measures are sufficient or whether additional controls or precautions are necessary.
As well as assessing day-to-day activities, we can also assess non-routine activities, such as maintenance and repair, where there is often a higher potential for fire and explosion incidents to occur.
Our explosion protection documents are customed to your individual plant, but in general show:
- Explosion risks have been determined and assessed
- Adequate measures have been taken
- Relevant places have been classified into hazardous zones
- Adequate work equipment is being used in accordance with the risk assessment
Our expert team will assist you in identifying technical and organisational measures to eliminate the risk of explosive atmospheres. Where this is not possible, we’ll help you take measures to control the risks and to minimise the harmful effects of any fire or explosion.
Depending on the complexity of your plant’s needs, we can provide instructions and training to help employees minimise risk in their day-to-day work.
The CompEx Scheme is the recognised global scheme for the protection of workers anywhere that explosive atmospheres exist or could exist. The CompEx Scheme provide competency validation of individuals across a range of disciplines and different hazards to help create a safer workplace. The scheme assesses the competency of employees and contract staff who are working in environments with the potential risk of explosive atmospheres. Antaris is now a CompEx licensed centre and is certified to deliver the Foundation and Responsible Persons training modules.

Process maps make complex processes easy to understand and follow.
Many ISO standards (such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and ISO 45001) require organisations to “establish, implement, maintain and continually improve a management system, including the processes needed and their interactions”.
At Antaris, we are adept at assisting organisations to map out their processes as they happen, rather than how they should happen.
We utilise Microsoft Visio to generate process maps and can develop process maps using standard process mapping notation or Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN 2.0).
Process maps support induction and training by making complex processes easy to understand and follow. They provide clear visibility of who is responsible and accountable for specific process steps.
Mapping out processes helps organisations determine business process improvements such as removing duplication, scheduling tasks to avoid bottlenecks and reducing excessive handover.
The Antaris team can work with you to document your processes in a clear and accessible way. We also run on-site workshops – giving you an overview of what process mapping is, what the benefits are and giving you the skills you need to map out your own processes.
