Who we are

Founded in 1994, Antaris began as a management systems consultancy implementing ISO standards before shifting our focus to sustainability.

Today, as an independent sustainability consultancy, we are experts in providing sustainability services, sustainability assessment and sustainability training to businesses in both the public and private sectors.

Antaris is at the forefront of genuine climate action. In 2021, we committed to reducing our absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 50% by 2030, and to measure and reduce our scope 3 emissions.

We have backed this up by becoming a signatory to the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi)*, joining the growing group of leading companies setting emissions reduction targets in line with what climate science deems necessary.

We are also members of 1% for the Planet and give 1% of our annual turnover to environmental non-profit organisations working to improve our environment.

SEAI

The SEAI plays a leading role in transforming Ireland into a society based on sustainable energy structures, technologies and practices. We have worked closely with the SEAl with respect to the development and deliverance of various training programmes in energy management system auditing, assessment and implementation, on behalf of the SEAl, in the pharma, chemical, manufacturing, services, utilities and other sectors. We also assisted with the development of a national programme of energy baseline assessments against the requirements of ISO 50001.

NSAI

The NSA is Ireland's standards body and leading supplier of product and systems certifications services, both domestically and internationally. Antaris has partnered with the NSA on a number of national and international projects, combining the expertise of both organisations to provide innovative solutions to our clients.

Eugene Cush

Eugene is a qualified environmental scientist with over 10-years’ experience in EHS compliance and EHS software. A specialist in undertaking complex legislative audits, Eugene has a considerable understanding of the EHS regulatory and operational challenges faced by organisations across a wide range of industries. In a past life, Eugene was the CEO of a leading compliance management software company operating in over 35 countries worldwide.

Eugene also holds an MSc in Management Practice from the Irish Management Institute/University College Cork with a specific focus on strategy, innovation and leadership. As Chief Operating Officer, Eugene is responsible for the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the company to ensure the highest standards of service to our clients.

Gerard Higgins

Educated in the University of Limerick, Gerry has worked in the technical services sector for over 40 years and has a very strong academic and organisational background in engineering and general management. In addition, he has over 40 years’ experience in technical and management consultancy in large multinational environments, state agencies and SMEs.

Gerry assists companies in the integration of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001/ISO 27701, ISO 50001, ISO 55001 and ISO 45001 from a people/process/technology perspective. He also helps companies to understand sustainability and create opportunities to minimise risk, enhance reputation and exceed customer expectations. He has a primary degree in engineering, a master’s degree in business administration and is a Fellow of Engineers Ireland and a Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). He has lectured extensively on sustainability, management system integration and employee engagement.

Nick Smyth

Nick Smyth is a highly qualified and experienced health and safety, environmental and quality management professional, with over 30-years’ experience in these areas. Since joining Antaris in 2005, Nick has completed numerous high-quality consultancy projects in management systems, compliance assessment and environmental, safety and quality assurance.

Nick has worked on projects in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and the US with multi-national companies and government bodies. He has specific interests and competence in Occupational Hygiene and Business Continuity and has helped many organisations address the challenges that COVID-19 presents.

Finbarr Stapleton

Finbarr is a highly reputable and experienced consultant and trainer. He joined Antaris in 1994 and since then, has successfully assisted many companies in implementing health and safety, environment, energy, food safety and quality management systems and achieving certification to ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and ISO 9001 among others. Finbarr has delivered projects in the UK, Germany, Luxembourg, and Saudi Arabia. He has a strong reputation in OH&S Management and is a highly sought-after trainer and consultant in this area. Finbarr has been very active in developing Covid-19 advice and response plans for our clients. Finbarr is an authority on OHS risk management in a wide range of industry sectors such as food and beverage manufacture, pharma, medical device and mining.

Finbarr is an excellent tutor and has designed, developed and delivered numerous training courses in the area of Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems and Auditing. Finbarr acts as an agreement support manager/mentor with the Sustainable Energy  Authority of Ireland (SEAI) for the public and private sector. Finbarr is the lead tutor on our NEBOSH International Diploma training course offered in conjunction with SQT.

Imelda Condron

Imelda is responsible for the development and management of our wide range of training courses, ensuring a high standard of training delivery, along with maintaining our CQI IRCA, IEMA and NEBOSH accreditations. Imelda works closely with our clients and our training partner, SQT Training Ltd., in developing and delivering a world-class training experience.

Imelda has over 25 years’ experience working within the international technology sector, legal sector and services industry and is a graduate of the Marketing Institute of Ireland.

Liam Regan

Liam Regan is an experienced energy engineer and accomplished quality practitioner. Liam is known for his adaptability together with his attention to detail. With a decade of experience of working with management systems, Liam focuses on ensuring our clients can implement and maintain management systems that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their operations. Working as consultant, trainer, and auditor, he specialises in the areas of energy management, quality management, legal compliance, lean systems, and process performance.

In addition, Liam is a registered energy auditor with the SEAI. He also assists large organisations, in his role as relationship manager for both Large Industry Energy Network and Public Sector Partnership programmes, to improve their energy performance and meet their respective objectives and targets.

Bruce Harper

Bruce Harper is a consultant with more than a decade of experience in the field of environmental regulation. A specialist in industrial emissions, he has deep sectoral knowledge gained over a varied career, from setting licence conditions as a licensing Inspector with the Environmental Protection Agency to writing Regulations and developing guidance for regulators and operators as an Environmental Policy Advisor in the Department of the Environment Northern Ireland. Bruce is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin, with a BSc. in Engineering with Management, and a master’s degree in environmental engineering. He is a member of Engineers Ireland.

Geoff Dooley

Geoff is an experienced strategy and sustainability consultant and an accomplished speaker and trainer with a strong track record of leading change in the environmental services, life sciences, and not-for-profit sectors. In his earlier career, Geoff worked in business development across a variety of enterprises and sectors including plastics recycling, biofuels, veterinary services and clinical trial management technology. He combines his experience and intuition to help leaders and their organisations navigate a sustainable path forward in an increasingly complex and interconnected world.

Geoff holds a primary degree in Environmental Science, an MBA, an MSc in Finance, a Level 9 Diploma in Executive Coaching, and an Advanced Diploma in Systemic Transformation. Geoff is a member of the Irish Institute of Training and Development and the Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust.

Aurora Leyton

Aurora graduated from the University of Chile, where she gained her primary degree in chemical engineering. She is also a graduate of the master’s programme in Environmental Leadership from the University of Galway. Her experience in Chile includes enforcement of national regulations regarding the manufacturing, storage, import, transport, and disposal of hazardous substances and granting permits for such activities. Her studies and projects in Chile required strong technical and environmental competence and a capacity to engage with diverse stakeholder interests. Having studied and lived in Ireland, Aurora brings a global perspective to the Irish and EU regulatory context and the imperative for sustainability across public and private sector organisations.

Peter Fleming

Peter Fleming is an accomplished safety professional with credible technical insight coupled with best-in-class interpersonal and communication skills. In the last 20 years, he has specialised in the areas of HAZOP, risk assessment, process safety, fire safety and industrial loss prevention. Peter has worked with over 300 organisations in Europe, China, Middle East, America, Central America primarily focusing on HAZOP studies and Risk Assessment. He has co-ordinated a number of HAZOP and SIL studies in Jubail and Saudi Arabia. He has also worked as a safety expert responsible for assessing the safety of Ma’aden operations and processes and preparing a safety risk register for Ma’aden PhosphateCompany. He has also completed HAZOP studies in Ireland, the UK, Saudi Arabia and Qatar for a number of clients.

Elizabeth Walker

Elizabeth Walker is a proficient management system expert with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with over 20 years’ industry experience specialising across five disciplines including Health & Safety, Environment, Energy, Quality and Food Safety. Areas of expertise to support these management systems incorporate risk management, change management and lean manufacturing techniques.

Elizabeth has worked as a consultant developing and implementing integrated management systems for global organisations both nationally and internationally, in Ireland, the UK, Belgium, France, Croatia and Hungary. Elizabeth is also a competent lead auditor with extensive experience carrying out and managing audit programmes and is also a practised trainer delivering wide ranging management system courses.

Monika Gade

Monika is an experienced Account Executive at Antaris Consulting, where she manages client relationships, and oversees project management activities. Her background as a Business Development Executive has equipped her with skills in lead generation, collaboration with sales and marketing departments, strategic planning, and maintaining high levels of customer engagement and satisfaction.

Monika has a master’s degree in Marketing and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, both obtained from universities in India. She is well-versed in analysing complex data, building accurate customer profiles, and recording data in CRM databases.

Sarah Liddy

Sarah Liddy has recently joined our team at Antaris Consulting as an Environment and Health and Safety Consultant. As an Environment and Health and Safety Consultant, she plays a pivotal role in supporting our clients to enhance their environmental and safety performance and to reduce their operational risks.

Sarah has over 8 years of experience in the health and safety, environmental and risk field. Over the years she has successfully worked with a diverse client portfolio where she has led risk initiatives, provided advice on the development of risk policies, guidelines and standards, presented tailored education and training programmes, implemented effective safety measures, and conducted organisational evaluations, reviews and audits.

Sarah excels in risk identification, analysis, and mitigation. She possesses a keen ability to assess complex business environments, offering tailored risk strategies that aligns with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements. She has worked collaboratively with other organisations, such as the Health and Safety Authority (HSA), in the development of projects at a national level.

Ciara Higgins

Ciara is a graduate of the University of Limerick and holds a BSc. Degree and a Lean Six Sigma Diploma. Ciara has considerable experience in the transport, freight forwarding, manufacturing, logistics and service industries in management system implementation including ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and IATF 16949. This includes design and implementation of management systems, gap analysis of management systems, setting objectives and targets, process mapping, documenting procedures, pre-assessment audits, internal auditing and customer satisfaction measurement.

Ciara has an on-going compliance consultancy role in a number of transport, logistics and freight forwarding companies. She has implemented AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) status in several companies and has extensive training and practical experience with this standard both in Ireland and abroad. She has also successfully implemented procedures, policies and records in line with HPRA Good Distribution Practice Guidelines and is responsible for maintaining Antaris’ compliance with applicable legislative and regulatory requirements.

Marcas Mac Donncha

Marcas Mac Donncha is an energy engineer bringing years of experience with large industrial processes and systems, developing practical and cost-effective Energy & Sustainability roadmaps to help large organisations reach their sustainability goals.
This included design and implementation of energy projects, stakeholder engagement, and providing informative workshops to further understanding of energy systems and initiatives. Qualified as a mechanical engineer with a speciality in modelling complex energy systems,

Marcas also has experience in Greenhouse Gas emissions analysis, management systems, regulatory compliance, and brings a practical understanding of energy systems at point of use with time spent as Utilities & Facilities Lead in large food processing sites. Additionally, Marcas is qualified as a Certified Energy Manager by the Association of Energy Engineers.

Rory Sánchez O’Toole

Rory holds a MSc in Sustainable Finance from UCD Smurfit School, and brings years of experience in finance and consulting to the team. Rory also holds an MA in International Economics from UCD. He brings a strong well-informed focus and experience on circular economy and sustainable finance. Rory has volunteered with UN development program and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, where he helped implement sustainable strategies to public institutions.

In his years working in consulting, Rory has worked with numerous multi-national corporations and NGOs. Where he managed and completed high quality operational and financial projects with a focus on implementing more sustainable business practices. He brings great experience and understanding in auditing, taxonomy, regulatory compliance, client relations and financial services.

Kimsor Oeng

Kimsor adds to the rich pool of expertise at Antaris with experiences from his previous roles in transboundary water management and food systems development in the Mekong region. Over four years, he coordinated cross-sectoral sustainability projects, adept at aligning diverse interests and values for impactful outcomes.

Prior to embarking on his sustainability mission, Kimsor spent four years driving process improvement initiatives in human resources and international procurement within the private sector, honing his skills in optimising organisational operations.

Kimsor has a deep-rooted passion for the inner dimension of sustainability and is currently undertaking an MSc research project supported by Antaris and University College Cork, leveraging the latest research from this emerging multifaceted field in the work of Antaris. Additionally, he serves in an advisory capacity for the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia, contributing strategic policy insights.

Kimsor holds a BA in International Relations from the Australian National University and is a recipient of the prestigious Ireland Fellows Programme of the Irish Government.
