If and when an organisation wants to implement this standard within their organisation, there are some preliminary questions they should ask:
These questions should lead the organisation to the following:
- Identification of customer needs, expectations and requirements.
- Identification of regulatory requirements.
- Outlining the definition of policy supported by measurable objectives.
- Planning of actions and resources needed to meet objectives.
Once an organisation has answered those questions and has decided to look for certification, the process is as follows:
